Hello Sister Chicks,
It has been suggested that I not only share my business, but also what I have received in the affiliation with the High Desert Chicks of Meridian, Idaho with you.
Having been in Entrepreneurial businesses the last 43 years of my 72 years I can say I have been envolved in many networking arenas. I find "Chicks" warm, fun, terrific learning skills thanks to Jewels, and most of all a softer way of knowing and building lasting sister friendships in a business circle. Helping each other in this setting is very rewarding.
As for my current business...I have been teaching and sharing skin care, advanced color techniqes with Mary Kay Cosmetics, as well as how women can have an impact on their personal and career life through dreaming, for the past 25 years.
I am always looking for women I can share how they can look their best on the outside because when they do, the inside begins to glow and grow. That is my mission and passion!
There are no territories in my business so the sky is the limit.
Just a quick note.... with all that has happened to our beautiful planet and people, I feel it a time to smile and when visiting with someone to realize they are the most important person at that moment. We need to share our sunshine with all we meet.
As I go out and share my business with others about my products or being a part of it, I aways remember a message that was given to me years ago. it goes like this...
MAYBE SHE NEEDS ME....
It had been a long day. I was finishing a task,
and as I hurried past her, a ittle voice said, "Ask!"
"Oh, not today," I told myself, "I'm tired, and it shows.
Besides, I might look foolish, and she'd likely just say 'No."
While drifting off to sleep that night, I saw her face again.
I wondered what her life was like...her needs, her dreams, her pain.
What if she'd been wishing for a friendly word and smile.
A chance to know somebody who would go the extra mile?
What if she'd been waiting for a break, an open door?
Was this the opportunity that she'd been praying for?
I saw the cars she might not drive, the rings she might not wear because I would not risk myself to stop,to ask, to care.
So what if what I offer her is not her cup of tea?
That's a choice for HER to make. How selfish can I be?
Oh, let me live the true "go-give," and let my mission be...
not to think, "Do I need her?" but, "Maybe she needs me."
***This absolutely goes for asking women to join "Chicks."
Thank you Jewels for your beautiful concept of "Chicks."
Wishing you Miracle Days and Fantastic Dreams,
Sally Cathline Sabino
Spotlight Chick Sally Sabino
Tell us about yourself so that we can get to know you better.
I was born in San Francisco, CA and raised in Albuquerque, NM. Married for 53 years to Bob Sabino. Two sons and three grandchildren.
We moved to Boise, ID 30 years ago with our business. Bob and I presented, sold and trained over 4,000 participants in communication classes of the Dale Carnegie Training Classes in How to Win Friends and Influence People, Sales Course, Management Seminars and in-house courses for 20 years. Both public and private businesses in New Mexico, Texas and then Idaho. While in Texas I was asked to be the Director in the Junior Chamber of Commerce for two years. The experience of the chamber respecting my abilities as a leader truly began the personal confidence in myself.
A Year before we sold the business, I began my 25 year career in Mary Kay Cosmetics working my way up to Directorship for 10 years, now a consultant with over 275 customers and loving every aspect of it.
What inspired you to do what you do professionally?
Acquiring the professional tools both from both Dale Carnegie and Mary Kay and using them in a way to share and show by example, I have seen individuals walk away realizing they too can make a difference in their lives and the people they connect with both in the work force and personal areas.
Tell us a story of how you made a difference in someone’s life.
How wonderful you should ask this question at this moment. In our activity this week you asked us to look at mentors in our lives and who we have mentored to. In the discussion, one of our “Chicks” mentioned and thanked me for mentoring her. In fact she is the one who introduced me to “Chicks.” She joined my Mary Kay unit about 12 years ago. She was going through personal negative energy. Through listening, suggesting and being an example of positive emotions, she was able to realize and work through her journey. She still is a personal use consultant on the team and now has found her confidence in a whole new career and is accomplishing positive success in it. I had no idea until this week when she expressed her genuine feelings towards me and in mentoring her.
What have you gained personally from being a member of Chicks Connect?
The special friendships, education in businesses I never would have known and the respect the members have of my career. The activities and discussions each week have opened me up to other possibilities to use in my business.
Any words of wisdom for other Chicks?
Ask... What can I do to be better?
What can I do to be brighter?
Who can I share my sunshine with today?
Live on Purpose.
When things don’t go quite right… have a piece of licorice and move on.
Finally… How Visible am I willing To Be?
How can people reach you if they want to know more about what you are up to in the world?
