What is Oral Hull Foundation?
The Oral Hull Foundation for the Blind is committed to providing a safe and special place for people with low vision or blindness and their friends and family to get away. They provide year-round educational, social, and recreation opportunities to help foster independence and confidence in individuals with low vision or blindness.
Oral Hull Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and relies on donations from the public. The gorgeous Hull Park, located outside of Sandy, OR, is available for rent for private events such as retreats, meetings, or weddings and is incredibly reasonably priced. In addition, they host a Living With Vision Loss Seminar for individuals looking to increase their skills while coping with vision changes.
How Can Chicks Help?
New Gresham Jazzy Chicks member Barbara Dilley has been inspiring her chapter to get involved. The Foundation is always looking for new volunteers since the park is maintained by a volunteer force. Jazzy Chicks are committed to helping get involved and help with some of the events hosted by the foundation to raise money and promote the park.
As well, the Chicks are collecting money for the Foundation’s Tandem Bike project. The Foundation plans to purchase tandem bikes and helmets equipped with radios so that a sighted rider can be in front and communicate with a low vision rider in the front. Trish Barclay, the Charity Chick, works with American Family Insurance and they have agreed to match any donation she makes to this cause 100%, up to $1000. If you’re interested in supporting the tandem bike project, you can get in touch with Trish at email@example.com.
You can also support the Oral Hull Foundation by considering their beautiful park for your next event. If you are looking for a getaway for a day, a weekend, or more they have accommodations.
Their facilities include a indoor lodge area with room for up to 100 people and 24 overnight rooms with space for 48 guests. They even have a heated indoor pool and Jacuzzi. They offer catering, an outdoor game area, hiking trails, and an award winning garden. All of this at extremely reasonable rates perfect for your next event.
